Enzymes for liquefaction
What is liquefaction?
Liquefaction uses heat and alpha-amylase to convert granular starch into starch hydrolysate (DEx) to be saccharified later. With Novozymes, you can run liquefaction at a lower pH, preventing problems and saving costs.
Alpha-amylase :
Endo-amylase that hydrolyzes (1,4)-alpha-D-glucosidic linkages in starch polysaccharides.

Lower pH, preventing problems and saving costs.


Low liquefaction pH.
High dextrose (DX) levels.


High dry substance (DS).
Ease of inactivation.
